HISTORY

SMA Negeri 1 Bukittinggi firstly is a part of ABC High School that is located in Birugo (SMA Negeri 2 Bukittinggi now) in 1957. At first the school was known as the 1B High School in 1959 and moved its location to the current location at Jl. Syekh M Jamil Jambek No. 36 (Landbouw) Bukittinggi. The main building SMA Negeri 1 Bukittinggi which began construction in 1957 and completed in 1959 was government aid, that is given because Bukittinggi is the central or the provincial capital of West  Sumatra.
